Lesson 23 Spider guard pass

To pass the spider guard, it is important to remove the opponent's legs that are kicking or that are wrapped around your arms to create a situation where both your hands are free. Use your combat base to defend against sweeps and submissions and work together with your legs and hands to release the opponent's grips. Once both hands are free, you can do the stacking pass if you are in a seated position, or the bull-fighter pass if you are in a standing position to go to the side control.
